One of our clients, a European telco provider had a SOC in place providing business hour SOC as a service capability for its business customers.
There was strong demand for this to be expanded to a 24-hour service with increased analytics and threat intelligence however, a cost-effective method of expanding from 5 shifts per week to 21 shifts per week needed to be found.
Expertware worked closely with the client to develop a cost and pricing strategy that met the needs of the clients’ customers, developed the portfolio of services on offer and integrated the Expertware team into the clients existing cyber security framework.
This resulted in a flexible charging model that enable services to be ramped up to meet demand with Expertware resources remotely utilising the clients existing SOC tool set whilst adding additional threat intelligence capability from Expertwares’ own operation centre service portfolio.
The Expertware team spent a month on site with the client learning the clients’ processes and procedures as well as implementing a secure access model for the SOC.
Following the initial training and integration the Client was able to offer 24*7 SOC and SIEM services to its business customers based on existing investments and with no sudden step up in operational costs.
End customers could be brought on board to the enhanced service over a period of time and the clients existing pricing model remained intact ensuring an organic evolution to the enhanced service rather than a disruptive revolution.
The Telco was able to enhance the services it provided to its business customers based on the customer’s specific needs without a significant upfront investment allowing the client to expand its capabilities without risking profitability.
